I have acted as counsel and/or as an equity partner in a
variety of real estate and energy development projects
ranging in value from under $1 million to over $200 million.
I have represented a variety of clients in buying, selling, and
working out notes purchased from banks and other sellers in
the secondary market. Collectively, my clients have
purchased notes in excess of $750 million in unpaid principal balance.
I have represented a wide range of clients in real estate
transactions and litigation matters. From the purchase or
sale of a residential property to a multi-million dollar
commercial lending transaction, I have been involved in
hundreds of real estate transactions over the past twenty
years. I have also litigated real estate cases ranging from
boundary disputes to quiet title actions.
I formerly owned and operated a small title insurance agency
where we closed several thousand transactions. As a licensed
title and escrow officer, I am very familiar with title insurance
and escrow issues. I have also litigated a variety of title
insurance issues, have lectured on the subject at continuing
education seminars for attorneys, insurance agents, and other
real estate professionals, and have acted as a title insurance
or escrow expert witness in several lawsuits.
I have conducted foreclosures for private and institutional
clients. I have also successfully litigated foreclosure matters
in both bankruptcy and state court proceedings.
I have worked with clients to complete several hundred sets
of estate plans, including funding and property transfers.
Michael D. Roberts is a solo practitioner with practice areas consisting of project development, title insurance, real estate transactions and litigation, foreclosure and creditor bankruptcy, and estate planning.
He holds an undergraduate degree in music, an M.B.A.and a J.D., all from Brigham Young University.
Mr. Roberts is a member of the Utah State Bar and holds Utah agent licenses in title search and escrow, among others.
